The O’Donnell Lab - Celebrating the Legacy of Eileen O’Donnell

On Friday, 12 December 2025, the St. Raphaela’s Secondary School community came together to celebrate the extraordinary contribution of Eileen O’Donnell, who retired after 38 years of dedicated service to the school, including 23 years as Principal.

Throughout her time at St. Raphaela’s, Eileen shaped not only the physical development of the school, but also its culture, values, and vision, always guided by our school ethos. She led with clarity, foresight, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every student and staff member. Under her leadership, St. Raphaela’s expanded significantly and embraced educational change with confidence, placing holistic education and care at the heart of all that we do.

As part of the celebration, Room 21, our new Science laboratory was formally dedicated as The O’Donnell Lab.This naming honours Eileen’s lifelong commitment to learning, innovation, and progress, and serves as a lasting tribute to her leadership and vision.Eileen was also presented with a special award entitled “The Heart and DNA of the School”, reflecting the profound and enduring impact she has had and will continue to have on the St. Raphaela’s community.

The O’Donnell Lab stands as a symbol of Eileen O’Donnell’s legacy: a space that celebrates curiosity, growth, and excellence, and one that will inspire generations of students to come.
