SciFest
SciFest@School is a Irish Science Competition for Secondary School students which has been held in St. Raphaela's Secondary School for the last 8 years. 2nd Year students are given an opportunity to research and present a Science project of their choice to a team of volunteer judges from local Universities and Science industries. St. Raphaela's was also recently presented with a SciFest School Award by Ms. Sheila Porter, CEO of SciFest, in recognition of the schools involvement in the competition over several years. St. Raphaela's was one of two schools invited to attend the national launch of SciFest 2024. During the event students got an opportunity to meet SciFest sponsors and display their projects.
Science Club
The Science Club offers students opportunities to participate in numerous scientific experiments and discussions that will further enhance their understanding of the World of Science.
The club gives passionate students a chance to look deeper into the reasoning behind experiment results and extend their knowledge about Science.
Science Club normally meets weekly at lunch times, listen out for announcements for upcoming meetings. Students from all year groups are welcome.
