Cineáltas: Action Plan on Bullying is Ireland’s whole-education approach to preventing and addressing bullying in schools and all schools country-wide are required to implement these procedures by September, 2025. Cineáltas contains 61 actions which are aimed at helping us all to work together towards an inclusive Irish society free from bullying in all its forms and where all our children and young people can feel happy and safe in our schools.

Building on our commitment to the promotion of Anti-Bullying, we are excited to begin the process of launching our Bí Cineálta plan with consultation from our students, parents, teachers and wider school community.

We hope that this will helps us to build on the excellent work that we have done to date in the area of Anti-Bullying in St. Raphaela's, and look forward to engaging with our whole school community as we move towards embedding Bí Cineálta in the school. Keep an eye out for further updates here!

Bí Cineálta Launch

From March 25th to 28th, St. Raphaela’s proudly launched Bí Cineálta, a school-wide initiative championed by our passionate and proactive Student Council. The week featured a vibrant series of events designed to foster inclusion, strengthen community, and deepen awareness around bullying behaviours.

Teachers reinforced these values through classroom lessons focused on empathy, kindness, and respectful interactions. Complementing the in-class activities were a variety of engaging co- and extra-curricular events, including a morning chill-zone, mindfulness and meditation sessions, random acts of kindness, PositiviTEA, and a Bí Cineálta Art Competition. Together, these initiatives created a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the school.

Student Friendly Bí Cineálta Policy

Once again, our Student Council collaborated to develop a student-friendly version of the policy. They distilled the official policy into clear, key messages that make it easier for students to understand what bullying is, and what steps to take if they experience or witness it in school. The Student Council includes representatives from 1st to 6th year, ensuring a wide range of perspectives and truly representative input. This student-friendly policy is now displayed in every classroom, the front hall, and all student bathrooms.
